She obtained full credit for my airfare after my trip to New York was cancelled because of the Covid pandemic, and meticulously paved the way for my recent trip, constantly checking on the ever-evolving, complicated requirements on both sides of the Pacific. She guided me through the messy MIQ lottery process and MIQ website successfully with clear instructions once I was in the running for a hotel room. Alex kept me up to speed throughout the process as governments and airlines changed the rules, making sure there was no stone left unturned to enable a smooth journey. Fantastic experience: Bronwyn in Dunedin could not have been more helpful in organising the complex flights needed to get me to my bucket list gorilla watching trip in Uganda. The catch is we finalised the booking at the end of February so of course COVID happened swiftly thereafter and everything had to be cancelled. She organised a fab trip for us last year to Italy and beyond and we experienced the luxury of Qatar business class on her recommendation. Wow! This year we were all booked and paid for another trip this time to Canada but sadly Covid got in the way. Bronwyn worked very hard to get all our money refunded, both airline and tour. We will certainly use her again when the world is a bit more normal.

From multi-generational multi-family trips to the islands to action packed adventures through Europe. Every time Alex has had amazing attention to detail and taken care to suggest those special extras that make lasting memories. It was probably our most recent experience however which showed us just how important it is to have an amazing travel agent. A long planned bucket list trip round the world for our 10yr wedding anniversary proved not possible through the COVID crisis. We heard many stories of people being left high and dry but a few months on, we count ourselves incredibly lucky to not have lost a dollar. Alex worked tirelessly to get us refunds on flights, accommodation, transfers & activities. Last year Alex booked a family holiday in Bali with family from several different locations around the world. Sadly just before Lockdown we had to cancel. Alex was incredible . We got total refunds. No problems. We booked to go to Australia with part of the family with only two days notice. Alex said “ I will sort it” which of course she did. Fantastic experience: Early this year I decided that a sight-seeing trip overseas on my own (since the death of my partner) would be a goal, hoping that that trip would give me a good combination of reflective time, socialising and photographic content. In the past I have usually made travel bookings online rather than go through a travel agent; however, Alex Hannagan had been recommended to me by a friend who had been impressed by Alex's travel assistance skills and knowledge. From the start, Alex was very welcoming to me and interested in my trip ideas. We planned the travel itinerary together but very soon after I had paid for the trip, Co-Vid lockdown struck and so began great uncertainty about being able to travel at all. During and after lock-down, Alex was very prompt at acknowledging my emails, via prepared statements that explained what she was doing (e.g. to help other travellers whose trips were booked before mine), or through personal responses (by phone and/or email) to my queries. The event of Co-Vid 19 and what that meant for trying to recoup expenses paid for bookings that could no longer be used must have been a harrowing time for travel agents; so I am especially appreciative of Alex's efforts to get refunds and/or credits from the air, cruise and train companies (which she has passed on to me). I am also thankful that this was a time that I had made my travel bookings via an agent! I look forward to being able to re-book my trip with Alex; hopefully, in the near future!

Here professionalism in dealing with the cancellation of our bookings after covid has just reinforced why you should always use a travel agent. Fantastic experience: I've been with Hannagan and Greive for a number of years and organised a number of overseas trips with them, they have always delivered. With the current travel challenges, I most likely would have lost my fare completely if trying to sort it all out myself. Dealing with a travel agent professional gives access to flight deals and security you can't get over the internet.

She has taken a personal interest in ensuring our daughter was able to return from the UK safety, even tracking her flights. Fantastic experience: Last year I booked a holiday for my husband and I and four children to visit Taiwan, Thailand and Singapore. Alex was fabulous with suggestions and understanding what would make the holiday work for a family with great advice on accommodation and practical tips about lengths of stays. She had experienced some of the places we were going first hand and I found her very knowledgeable in all aspects of travel. Then Covid struck and we were unable to go. Alex was so helpful with suggestions on accommodation and sights to see while on our holiday. But sadly due to Covid 19 we were unable to take the trip. Fantastic experience: My wife and I have done a fair bit of travelling in the last 10 years and to some far flung places like Uganda, Namibia and Oman to name but a few. We try to plan a major trip every 2-3 years and after recently moving to Dunedin we decided to try Hannagan & Grieve for our next holiday. Bronwyn was fantastic and super helpful, with her assistance we soon put together a 10 week trip visiting the UK and Europe with a stopover in New York. Unfortunately the Covid pandemic put paid to the holiday, but Bronwyn worked tirelessly to get us 100% refunds on all money paid and kept us fully informed throughout the whole process. I'm sure she was doing the same for all of her clients, but it felt like we had our own personal consultant fighting for us all the way. I can't recommend Hannagan & Grieve enough and will certainly be back when we can travel again.

Fantastic experience: We have been using Bronwyn and Alex at Travel Associates for two overseas trips. One went ahead (and went very smoothly). They did a great job of finding good hotels and activities that worked for us - and were also very respectful of finding the right balance between finding things for us to do and leaving us to our own devices. The second one didn't go ahead due to Covid, and this is where they came into their own. They gave us great advice when booking about how to manage the risk of cancellation (because it was a possibility at the time) and they took charge of the refund process, sorted it all and got us a very good outcome. They put the customer first and are outstanding. They have sorted a domestic getaway for us in September and have also done a great job of sorting it out for us. They have a real flair for putting holidays together. Highly recommended.

The standard of the hotels, the fabulous meals and optional extras were all great value. Our tour guide provided an amazing amount of historic background and ‘insider knowledge’ and we had immediate entry into all the ‘must see’ places, no queuing. Having toured much of this independently previously, with only one paragraph in the guide book for each place of interest proved what great value for money and economy of time the tour provided!
