Adventure Junkies

Fantastic experience: My experience with Adventure Junkies was phenomenal - I cannot recommend Russ and his team highly enough! I did the 10 Day Adrenalin Tour from Christchurch to Queenstown in October 2023 and everything about the trip was amazing from the small group (4 people), to the witty banter and amazing sights. If you are a thrill seeker, the Adrenalin Tour is for you -the itinerary was packed with awesome activities (including zip lining, bungy jumping and sky diving) but was balanced with a few free afternoons to explore along the way. There were a few minor changes to our itinerary due to the weather and maintenance works, however this was navigated seamlessly and the alternative activities were just as awesome (I particularly enjoyed the white water rafting substitute of river kayaking). We were fortunate to have Russ as our guide who is both an awesome guide and lovely human. He was very relaxed and friendly and went out of his way to ensure we had a great time by providing advice and recommendations including on the best places to grab dinner (breakfast and lunch are included!) and sharing his inside knowledge on the best local attractions and photo opportunities! He is also very knowledgeable about New Zealand and enhanced our experience by providing a range of commentary on the various cultural, historical and geological/geographic features of our travels. I can't wait to head back to New Zealand for my next Adventure Junkies trip!

Fantastic experience: We had an absolutely fantastic time, Dave was wonderful, very informative about every question we asked and was a wonderful guide. He was there answering our questions while giving us space, that it felt like it was just us there and I loved that, would highly recommend using these guys if your down there looking for a easy way to travel around and see Queenstown.

Fantastic experience: The ten days I spent touring the South Island on the Adrenalin Junkie tour have truly yielded some of the best experiences of my life. The schedule is packed with so many amazing activities (hiking, white water rafting, rock climbing, etc.), but is well balanced with a few longer drives and periods of free time so it's not overwhelming. This tour included every activity I would have self planned as well as several others I wouldn't have thought of, packaged together in a way that eliminates all the logistical hassles of traveling solo. It's definitely a great value and well worth the money to avoid having to make individual bookings and figure out driving/navigating. Russ was extremely communicative in the months leading up to the tour as I emailed him my many, many questions. As a solo female traveler, I felt completely comfortable and included at all times. Our group was made up of quite a few solo travelers who were all awesome open people and we quickly made friends and formed a nice little cohesive group. We had 7 people in our group, which was a nice balance of being small enough to get to know everyone but not so small that there wasn't anyone to interact with. Our tour guide, Ryan, was absolutely phenomenal. He constantly ensured that everyone was prepared, comfortable, and having a great experience. Whether it was providing us with bug spray/sunscreen, lending us extra base layers, or even lending me his own hat when it was raining, Ryan took such amazing care of us. I had injured my ankle just a few weeks before this trip, so I was very worried about not being able to keep up with the hiking and lagging behind or ruining the experience for others. Ryan was so supportive and made me feel completely comfortable about doing what I could; he was super encouraging without pushing me past what I was able to do with my injury. There truly aren't enough words to express how wonderfully Ryan cared for us all. The way he took care of everything completely removed all of my underlying anxiety and made this trip unforgettable. Plus, he's freaking hilarious and kept us all engaged and entertained throughout the trip. Overall, this entire trip surpassed my wildest expectations. There's nothing I can think of that I would have changed; it was an absolutely perfect 10 days that I will remember for the rest of my life. Thanks so much for Russ and Ryan for making it happen!

Fantastic experience: My wife and I decided to use adventure junkies as our honeymoon. Their communication through the whole process of getting to New Zealand and the things we needed to bring were excellent. Our tour guide Ryan was incredible! Anytime anyone in our group asked him anything 98% of the time he knew the answer. From the smallest birds to the largest trees he always had an answer to inform us about this wonderful country. The activities were planned out perfectly, mixing up more physically demanding activities with ones that did not demand as much. He would make intentional stops in scenic areas on the trip and inform of the area and its significance to the country. The recommendations given for free afternoons and for places to eat were always perfect. Cannot recommend this group enough if you are wanting to experience the southern island of New Zealand and all it has to offer.

Fantastic experience: Our trip was postponed twice due to Covid-19 lockdown. Despite the delay we all had a fantastic time and it was definitely worth the wait! Russ created a personalised itinerary for us, he also organised our accommodation and transportation. I'd also like to mention that Russ kept in contact with me the entire time we couldn't travel (that's almost 2 years) making sure that we are still happy with the plan, giving the flexibility to make changes etc. This made such a big difference to my experience with Adventure Junkies, not everyday that you come across a company that goes above and beyond for their customers! Also, a special shoutout to our tour guide, Kim, you made me re-watch the Hobbit and Lord of The Rings for the 30th time because I just don't want to miss any of the scenes shot in Queenstown, Glenorchy and Paradise :D If you are looking to visit Queenstown please have a look at Adventure Junkies. A++ service and highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: From the first email to the last hug goodbye, Russ with Adventure Junkies was fun, professional and the best host as we adventured through the amazing South Island of New Zealand. I went into the trip thinking it would be a trip of a lifetime, but it was so much more. I thoroughly enjoyed the itenerary. Russ was quick to accommodate add-on activities and always knew the best place/people to get the adventures into a busy itenerary. I also appreciated some down time in the trip to get some wine tasting in and a massage, as well as some epic fishing for my partner. We went in March and had great luck with the weather. I would recommend Adventure Junkies to anyone and I am only hopeful that we can cross paths with Russ again someday and bring some friends/family with to enjoy the adventure.
