Fantastic experience: We just returned from a 2 weeks vacation in New Zealand. We couldn't be happier with how our vacation turned out. After a few emails, Veronika planned and organized our entire trip. She was our personal guide through the South Island after a few days on the North with James. Fantastic experience: My wife and I had an incredible 21 day trip! It was custom curated by Veronika of Aroha. We wanted variety of scenery and a trip that provided relaxation but also lots of fun activities. We started in the north island for a few days and then did the remaining trip with our incredible guide Kristin in the south island. We were impressed with the quality of the small boutique hotels/lodges, the quality of the food and the beautiful scenery of the many excursions we did. Highlights included wine tasting in Waiheke Island, an all day boat tour exploring Abel Tasman, a steep and fun eco nature walk on a gorgeous predator free island near Wanaka and visiting a penguin reserve. Kristin was an amazing guide and took us on countless hikes teaching us about the native NZ bush, trees and birds. She became a true friend and we miss her already! :) It was so nice to travel in a foreign country and not have to worry about logistics especially driving, where to get petrol, where to eat, etc. Highly recommend doing a custom tour through Aroha! They are very professional and detail oriented.

Fantastic experience: I have just returned from a fabulous month spent in New Zealand touring both islands with Veronika's company and Jürgen, my guide. This was for my meticulously planned Sabbatical, so my expectations were very high as I have been planning the trip for the last 12 months with Veronika. I am pleased to say that what Veronika and my guide organised was beyond my expectations. Jürgen and Veronika took care of everything from activities like nature treks, scenic flights and boat cruises to dinners and winery tours and tastings and even our snacks so we dont starve between meals! The lodges that Veronika booked were each unique and allowed us to meet some amazing people who are ready to share their stunning homes with limited number of carefully selected visitors. Fantastic experience: My husband and I highly recommend traveling with Ahora Tours! Friends of ours traveled with Ahora in New Zealand October 2022 . After investigating other private high end tour companies, it was an easy choice to make based on tailoring to our needs with Veronika, company owner, who ended up being our private guide for our nearly 3 week road trip! She leant a personal touch to the itinerary. We had a one hour Zoom meeting to review details such as did we want larger hotels or boutique hotels where we interfaced with the manager or more intimate with the owners. She found us beautiful locations in more intimate settings with lodges that were comfortable, had excellent food and wine. Each was unique. Departure times in the morning and arrival times in the late afternoon or evening space with free time on our own gave us a chance to relax and explore. Veronika was flexible if we decided to make a change in plans for example trying out a newly opened spa in Rotorua to try out the natural hot springs. Because of unseasonably cold, rainy and windy weather when we were to kayak she was able to provide us with a warm and cozy small boat tour of the Abel Tasman National Park instead. Every restaurant she recommended was different and delicious. We travel during an interesting time of a major election and Rugby World Cup for the New Zealand team was excelling. It was fun to share the excitement with Veronika and locals with whom we interfaced. This will be a most memorable trip for the two of us!

Fantastic experience: We toured with this company for almost 20 days in Jan, 2020. You'd think in that time we'd have come across at least a couple things to not like about them. But that wasn't the case at all. Aroha are complete professionals. Absolutely perfect planning & execution. All of the arrangements were great (hotels, transport, scheduling, etc.). We were on schedule 100% of the time. It was an absolute pleasure to tour NZ with Aroha. Special mention to Steve, our driver cum guide - wow! what a guy! A true professional. Extremely knowledgeable about everything NZ (even his restaurant recommendations were on point). We were a big group, but he remembered everyone's names. He catered to everyone's needs. Fantastic experience: Anyone looking for one of the most special places in the world to travel, strongly consider New Zealand. Our family of four sadly concluded a 2 week vacation earlier this month. So much is packed into this relatively small country. If NZ was a recipe, I would mix the best Colorado, Iceland, Yellowstone, Scandinavia, California, Hawaii, Montana and Washington state into a pot. We have Veronika and Jurgen from Aroha Tours to thank for this experience of a lifetime. They were able to design an itinerary--and execute it flawlessly--around our preferences. We visited places and stayed at lodges that only a local could find and arrange. Despite visiting during the busiest time of the year, we never felt over crowded or rushed. Fantastic experience: Had a great 3D2N tour around Queenstown with Aroha tour and their local guide Steve! The hotel stay book by Aroha for us was wonderful and view over the lake. Steve knows the roads well and able to find alternative ways to bring us around when traffic was bad. Happy to recommend their service to others touring NZ!

Fantastic experience: We visited the North Island of New Zealand in July 2019 during their winter. In the planning stages, I looked up google for a private tour that would cover our travel days, and wrote to 2 or 3 which seemed to offer the kind of all-inclusive tour that we were interested in. Veronika Vermuelen of Aroha Tours replied to us promptly and was up front with all the arrangements. Based on few questions about our travel preferences, she suggested an itinerary. I have to say that the itinerary she suggested pretty much covered everything I was hoping to do in 6 days in New Zealand. We booked our tickets, and that was all we had to do! From pick up from the airport to drop off at the airport and everything in between was seamlessly arranged by Veronika and her team. Our driver guide throughout the tour was David Duncan who has the distinction of being a child actor, and having appeared in all three Lord of the Rings movies. By the end of the trip, he was more like a close friend than a guide (so much so that we extended him a standing invitation to visit us in the US whenever he wished). The hotels we stayed at (Sebel Auckland Viaduct Harbour, Marina Park Apartments, Regent of Rotorua, The Reef Resort Motel, and the Novotel Auckland Airport) were all luxurious and met our expectations to the fullest. The activities that Veronika suggested for us which we blindly trusted (Sea Cave Adventures cruise, visit to the Lost Spring and Spa, Te Puia Arts and Crafts Center, Wai-O-Tapu geothermal area, Taupo Quad Adventures, Rafting New Zealand grade 2 rafting trip, Glowing Adventures Glow Worm tours, and the grand finale- the Hobbiton evening banquet tour) were each better than the other. Although I was concerned about the weather, I found it to be very pleasant, and the rain stayed away most of the time. All in all, this was a trip to remember for ages, thanks to Veronika's excellent organization, and David's charming personality. When (not if) we go back to New Zealand, I will have no hesitation as to whom to contact to organize our trip!

Fantastic experience: An amazing experience. We first contacted Veronika 6 month ahead of our visit. Veronika made it all much simpler than anticipated. The planning process was simple. Veronika took the time to listen to us. She perfectly accommodated the criteria we provided her with, including budget, type of lodging and type of activities. Fast forward to February 2019... the visit in the South Island of NZ was absolutely amazing. We stayed in lodges that were unique and visited locations that were amazing. The locations, the food prepared for us in each location and the activities we participated in were all carefully selected by Veronika and were spot on. People likely visit the same locations but it is really all about how you get there, when you get there and everything that happens in between. We have also greatly enjoyed the private guide that accompanied us throughout our stay. Zuzana was wonderful. Very knowledgeable and acomodating for all of our requests. Things change due to weather in a trip like ours and Zuzana, working with Veronika, was able to come up with ideas and alternative plans that proved to be great. Fantastic experience: From my initial contact with Aroha Tours through our last day (which was May 11, 2018) our 2 week NZ, North & South islands tour with Aroha, was first rate. Veronika responded promptly, professionally and thoroughly to my questions and to our preferences. I couldn't have asked for a better tour company for the 4 of us who traveled. Her recommendations for accommodations, specific destinations on the itinerary, her use of an App to keep our itinerary updated, the company vehicle we used, and our driver/guide, Jurgen---all just one of the best experiences we have had in any of our travels. We stayed in amazing B&B's suggested by Veronika, which gave us an even deeper connection with NZ. Also in those locales where B&B's were not available, the hotels Veronika suggested as options, were first rate. Aroha Tours has our highest overall recommendation, and especially Jurgen--he was one of the best tour guides we have ever had in our travels to all 7 continents and to many countries.

Fantastic experience: We contacted several New Zealand tour agencies to handle our 11 days there, and Aroha Tours was very responsive and willing to tailor a tour to our satisfaction. They were also more reasonably priced than several of their competitors. After our wonderful visit to both the north and south islands with them, I can’t imagine using anyone else. Veronika’s team is fantastic. Veronika herself took us around the north island and arranged for us to have one of the best personal guides at Te Puia in Rotorua. She became very quickly sensitive to our preferences and willingly rescheduled one of our days to do something more to our liking. We had Steve for most of our tour of the South Island, and he was proactive watching the weather and rescheduling two of our days to give us the best experience. So, they not only work extensively with you in advance to help plan an ideal tour but also reschedule events when weather doesn’t want to cooperate. Can’t recommend them highly enough!

Veronika is excellent to work with while planning your vacation. She's responsive, pays attention to details enabling a perfectly executed itinerary upon arrival. Jurgen, our driver, was knowledgeable, informative, and genuinely a nice person to spend two weeks with on the North and South islands. One thing that I believe set Aroha Tours above others was their ability to let you relax and let them handle the details. We had some tours cancelled due to weather related issues and Veronika and Jurgen were constantly on the phone rescheduling tours in order to fit activities back into our schedule. Fantastic experience: We did a tour of the South Island with Aroha Tours in Dec 2017. Despite approaching the peak tourism period, Veronika managed to arrange everything, acceded and customized the tour package to the best of our requirements. Our guide for the trip was Craig Wrightson. Craig is a highly meticulous and personable guide! He sought to ensure that our accommodation and activities were ready by always calling ahead. As someone who clearly loves his country, he had been a wonderful host whom passionately introduced us to his beautiful native island over the course of 10-ish memorably fun days. Under the mercy and unpredictability of New Zealand's weather conditions, he exhibited great negotiation skills and flexibility in reshuffling our activities amidst the stress of long haul cross-country drives; whilst ensuring that safety came first at all times. The experience that we had was exhilarating and we couldn't thank Craig more for being a part of our journey, sharing insights to New Zealand's amazing floral & fauna, captivating landscapes, Maui cultures and traditions. Fantastic experience: I don't even know where to begin..We just returned from an 11 day private tour with my husband, son and niece. This trip exceeded our expectations. Veronica put this tour together with all our requests and could not have done a better job. We toured the South Island-even though it's winter there...it's like we were on the island all by ourselves. Steve our guide, is now part of the family. We had wonderful weather and Steve was always one step ahead of the planning. With the weather changing, he called ahead and had our reservations changed to a day/time earlier and for that...he is tour guide of the year. We are seasoned travelers and this trip was one of the best trips we have ever had. The rooming arrangements were just delightful. Fantastic experience: We recently returned from our private, 17 day tour of both the North and South Islands of beautiful New Zealand - we give Veronika high praises for making our travel adventure, very memorable. She spoke with us personally, over a year ago, during our planning stages, and also before our departure, to make certain all details were covered. She advised me that the only thing you will need to do, is get out of bed in the morning, and everything else will be taken care of! She, of course, was correct. The luxury accommodations, along with the hosts, were outstanding. The variety of activities and tours for this trip went beyond my expectations. Andrew, our guide, with us from Auckland to Queenstown, was very informative, knowledgeable, as well as much fun! On our last day, it was raining, and I told Andrew that 'this was not rain, but our tears being shed for leaving New Zealand'! Fantastic experience: Veronika put together a 17-day private tour of a life time for my wife, her sister, brother-in-law and me. We toured both the North and South islands - from sailing to helicoptering (numerous times), to horseback riding, touring caves, hiking, visiting local cultural centers, visiting wineries - no detail was left undone. Once we arrived in New Zealand, Veronica's business plan is for her customers to have a worry free vacation. What a wonderful and effective business plan. Of course, lots of credit for experiencing such a great vacation goes to our tour guide, Andrew. Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful 8 days with Andrew, courtesy of Aroha Tours. Sadly, it rained a lot during our time (they came to call me "The Rainmaker"), but Andrew still managed to show us a wonderful New Zealand. Best of all, the tour provided us with the opportunity to taste wonderful restaurants, and all of our lodging was in fabulous bed and breakfasts with marvelous hosts. The South Island of New Zealand doesn't really have traditional hotels, and so the bed and breakfast is really the best way to see the island. The connections and knowledge that Veronika and Andrew brought to our accommodations made for an extra special trip. And we'll never forget our wonderful host Susie up in the Marlborough Sound at Okiwa Bay Lodge, who just like my Sue was born in 1960 in Moscow, Idaho. What are the odds on that?

Fantastic experience: Trip of a lifetime! We travelled with Aroha Tours during our trip to New Zealand in August 2016, and could not recommend them more highly. Veronika planned a wonderful 8-day trip for us, and the itinerary was just right. She customized the tour to our preferences and expertly handled every step of the way. We visited both the North and South Islands. Even our 10-year-old had fun during the entire trip. The fact that Veronica and Stephen were there with us throughout the trip made the trip comfortable and stress-free for us. We had some unique experiences - saw birds nesting in groups near the Tasman Sea, saw glowworm caves, and took a helicopter ride and landed on a glacier on top of Mt. Cook. The food in every place we visited had so much flavor. All the places that Veronika and Stephen recommended to us was amazing. New Zealand is a place that everyone should visit at least once. Fantastic experience: Our party of 4 (two sisters + spouses) worked with Aroha Tours to plan a dream trip of our lifetime to New Zealand. We were not disappointed! We told Veronica what was important for us to see and visit and she also made a few brilliant suggestions. We opted for a driver (whom Veronica personally picked for us) who drove our party from Auckland all the way down to Queenstown who added to our experience with his many insights to not only the sights we visited but also the history, culture, and politics of New Zealand. A much better experience and not much more cost than arranging one of those bus tours crowded with other tourists! Of course, we absolutely fell in love with New Zealand even wondering when we could come back again. Probably the BEST VACATION we have had to date. Because we had a driver and an itinerary all planned out by Aroha Tours, we didn't have any worries other than to have our bags packed and ready to take off to our next destination. Every detail was taken care of so we could truly just relax and enjoy our vacation trip. We experienced places we would never had personally discovered on our own and were delighted with everything we saw and everyone we met (innkeepers, etc.). Can't wait to plan another trip soon!!!

Fantastic experience: It was a spontaneous decision I made at the end of April to visit New Zealand in May 2016. I started to search for information and making plans for my trip. I was overwhelmed by information on internet after a couple of days. It was my first trip to New Zealand and I had only 2 weeks planned for it. In order to plan it in a more sufficient way and save time I decided to use a tour operator. I wrote 5 of them whom mentioned on their websites that they are specialised in private or private/luxury tours. Veronika from Aroha was the only person who responded to me my email within 24 hours and provided estimated costs per day for my budget reference. Veronika followed things through efficiently, effectively and professionally. So after the 2nd email communication with her I had already made up my mind to go with Aroha for 9 days to South Island. It was proven that I made an excellent choice. My guide Andrew was a very professional guide and he took very good care of me during the entire trip. He was very knowledgeable about culture and especially nature. I learned a lot from him. Thank you Andrew! Veronika is such a lovely person! She was very busy but she came to Taupo to see me while I was visiting my friend from Tauranga. We had a very nice talk feeling like old friends. We had lunch together then she took us to see a nice waterfall and after that we spent again coffee time together. Fantastic experience: Forget Kuoni, forget Black Tomato. If you want a tour company to organise a luxury trip for you, use Aroha. Veronika is much more knowledgeable about New Zealand and can suggest ways to help you save money for a luxury trip. The other companies will just squeeze every penny out of you whilst not knowing anything about the country without their local contacts anyway. We went on a 2 week honeymoon organised by Aroha in Feb 2016. Our guide Steve was professional and extremely passionate. His attention to detail and care allowed us to have a ZERO stress holiday without having to think. Fantastic experience: Words really can't describe the fabulous trip that we had with Aroha Tours on our 17 day adventure tour through New Zealand. Fantastic experience: Veronika does it again...I took a trip with her 2 years ago to South Island (which was phenomenal by the way) but recently came back to New Zealand to tour North Island. As she promised on the first trip, North Island certainly did not disappoint. My family and I did an 8-9 day trip from Auckland to Wellington. Veronika organized our itinerary personally, and every visit we made was an original experience that truly captured the essence of what New Zealand had to offer. This trip was a trip of many firsts for me...I inner-tubed in the Waitomo caves watching glow worms, visited her husband's dairy farm, caught a fish on beautiful Lake Taupo, went bungee jumping, and finished with a visit to Tarata Lodge, a real, working farm that runs tours on the river in the gorge below the farm. Veronika is an amazing tour guide, who knows really all there is to know about New Zealand (including the hidden gems that one would not have found without her); she certainly is a full-fledged Kiwi. Her service was impeccable, and her choice of accommodations left nothing to be wanted. All the food stops were amazing as well; we couldn't have eaten better. Most importantly, we did things that were authentically New Zealand, and my only complaint is that we didn't have enough time to see more of North Island. I wholeheartedly recommend Veronika's tour service to anyone who wants to experience in style and comfort genuine New Zealand, with all the kindness and beauty the country has to offer. Fantastic experience: Veronika designed a two week tour of New Zealand for our group of 6 people which we took in February. Fantastic experience: We booked our New Zealand adventure through Aroha Tours. Veronica designed a trip on both the North and South Islands based on preferences and the types of activities that we like to do. Besides seeing the country within our timeframe, we wanted to do it all. From hiking, to jet boating, to sailing, to kayaking, to bungee jumping, to beaching….and yes, eating and drinking….mission accomplished. Our accommodations were perfect, the service was great, and all the proprietors could not have been nicer!!
