Fantastic experience: Phil Hodge listened to what we wanted from a trip to Japan. He chose great hotels , good locations and ,his itinerary was detailed with clear instructions. The transport plan worked well and use of guides very helpful. He clearly knows Japan well.He was readily available when we needed urgent assistance and resolved our problem. All together he made our trip to Japan a memorable one and we thank him for that!

Fantastic experience: Thank you for the Japan trip we have just done. The organisation was really great and we really did mix with the local people and live their life. We had lots of laughs and learnt so much about the rural way of life. We made some great friends and definitely had our brief covered! It was funny the first week when we left the train full of people from Tokyo and when we got to our stop we were the only ones on it in the mountains staying with a beautiful family. As in the second week we were the only tourists getting off at Chino as well. Good feeling!! Amazing food by all families and experiencing their home life. We had some great photo opportunities and appreciated all their local knowledge they shared. Some even asked how come we came to visit them -so yes, I think very few, if any, New Zealanders had done what we had done! Great sharing of cultures. Finally, we would like to thank you for arranging everything so well and we are still buzzing over the people we met. A real bucket list experience and exactly what we were looking for in our travel. Fantastic experience: Brilliant trip with a great itinerary, great accommodation and suggestions on what to see. The detail in the trip guide on train departure times etc made a potential problem disappear and the arranged transport from airport to hotel on arrival was much appreciated. The guides and excursions were great. In the past, we have travelled on group tours, but this individual tour was exceptional and I could not fault it and recommend the company to everyone

Fantastic experience: We have just returned from the most amazing Vietnam family holiday thanks to Phillip and his team . The Hotels and Resorts were incredible, the guides, drivers and tours fantastic and Halong Bay was magical with way to many cocktails consumed . After all the hassle l put Phillip through taking adult children away all wanting to do different things nothing was ever a problem. Now planning the next trip with Phillip …his service, knowledge and guidance was number 1 ….thanks again

Fantastic experience: Recently went on a girls trip to Vietnam. Philip was nothing but helpful since first contact. A package was put together for us within an hour or so, literally at lightening speed! Everything was so well organised and made so easy for us, we didn't have to do a thing, just turn up to the airport and get on the plane! I have never seen such a well put together, comprehensive, and informative itinerary, than the one Phillip provided. Fantastic experience: I had an amazing trip to Japan, Philip did a great job organizing all the details of my trip and providing me with a good all-round trip, as it was my first time to Japan. Positive experience: An amazing 18 day tour in Japan organised by Red Dragonfly Travel. I have no hesitation in recommending Red Dragonfly for those who want to travel largely on their own, but having all accommodation, travel and some tours with a guide arranged. Thanks Phil and your team.

Fantastic experience: Had a great trip to Vietnam organised by Phil! The tour guides were lovely, the activities were great and location of our hotels were perfect! Unfortunately we went during the hottest weather recorded so we got heatstroke which made some activities hard, but otherwise it was a fantastic trip and will definitely go through Phil again! The only negative would be the layover in Sydney was quite tight so if you don’t want to run across the airport just mention that when arranging your tour however Phil was quick to respond via email even though it was late in the night in NZ :)

Positive experience: Phil was very helpful in arranging our bespoke 3 week trip around Sri Lanka. It was organised so that we saw all the places we wanted to see; and Phil worked with me and the local agent, Magical Isle Holidays, to ensure we had the kind of boutique hotel accommodation we prefer. We had a very competent and agreeable driver. Overall,it was a great holiday, and we warmly recommend it.

Fantastic experience: I had the most Phenomenal 70th Birthday in Vietnam and personally want to acknowledge and thank Philip Hodges from Red Dragonfly Travel Agent, from the moment we spoke a year ago planning my birthday holiday to sending an SOS due to a missed flight in Phu Quoc, Philips calm, clear, professional expertise was invaluable. Philip had tailor designed this trip by my directions of how I wanted to experience Vietnam and had adhered to details perfectly. He responded to my phone call within minutes of alerting him of a missed flight and within an hour had us re-booked from Phu Quoc to Singapore the next day to connect with our flight back to NZ on the 18th April. FYI: Because we missed our Singapore Airlines flight from Saigon to Singapore the airlines were then going to cancel our flight from Singapore to NZ, Philip negotiated a positive outcome with the airlines to keep open our booked flights so we did not have to incur extra $$$ financial expenses. I do believe it is Philips long term relationships with the airlines that they agreed not to cancel our booked flights home. Fantastic experience: Philip Hodges, at Red Dragonfly Travel was amazing to deal with. Nothing was too much trouble regarding organization before we left, and the actual trip was superb. There is NO way we could have had such a wonderful trip to Vietnam without his expertise. It wasn't rushed, we stayed in fabulous places and he guided us well with the places we visited in the time frame we gave him. The activities he arranged for us gave us a really good overview of such a special country and he also gave us time to explore on our own as well. Our family of five included three young adults and we ALL LOVED IT. We highly recommend Red Dragonfly Travel.

Positive experience: Phil organized a 13 day tour to Japan for me. I had a fantastic time. Especially in Tokyo. Loved trying the Hida beef, and although the cherry blossoms hadn't quite bloomed fully it was still very beautiful

Fantastic experience: Phil organised an itinerary for us in Vietnam and Cambodia. With the amount of time, and money, we had at our disposal he ticked all the boxes we asked of him as seamlessly as he could. The support team he is connected to was more than helpful if and when we needed them offshore too. If you're looking for someone who "gets it" you've found them.

Fantastic experience: We took the Heritage Line Mekong River cruise, from My Tho (Ho Chi Minh City) to Siem Reap, on the Jahan, in July 2023. This is a luxury 7 day cruise from the Mekong Delta, into Cambodia, including a day at Phnom Penh, and ending with a road transfer to Siem Reap close to the wonderful Angkor Wat temples. We'd recommend the cruise unreservedly! Its a beautiful and elegant vessel, with comfortable staterooms, perfect bar, lounge and dining areas, a pool, and was a wonderful week. The cruse was made perfect by the crew and staff of the Jahan.They were friendly, good humoured, courteous and efficient and made us feel special. My wife and I were both unwell for part of the week and the managers and staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome, safe and looked after. The daily excursions were varied and fun and all round this was one of the best trips we have ever had. I'd recommend Phil and Red Dragonfly travel absolutely! Phil did a great job of organising, advising and making all the hotel and travel reservations for us. I'd certainly use Phil's services for future travel in the region.

Fantastic experience: Thank you to Phil at Red Dragon Travel for organising our fantastic 12 night trip to Japan for my husbands 60 th birthday. The itinerary included a great selection of places from Tokyo to Kyoto with lots of things to do and see. The holiday flowed effortlessly- all we had to do is turn up! No dramas, no bum deals, and we were confident with all of the bookings as Phil had made sure we were up to date with any changes, such as when our Guide had to cancel due to sickness. All of the details we needed were easily sourced on our travel phone app. Phil had really thought of everything that we might need to know- we will book again for our next trip, wherever that might take us.

Fantastic experience: I saw a Luxury Escapes offer for Japan but somehow ended up with these guys. I'm glad I did. I saved in excess of $1 thousand, everything was planned down to the last detail, managed through the magic App they use. Responses to questions during the trip were quick and helpful, down to which trains to take when to get to our next destination. Our Japan trip was one of those "Bucket Trip" adventures made possible by knowledgeable people with intimate first hand knowledge. Thank you!!

Fantastic experience: Just want to thank Phil and the Red Dragonfly folks for designing our Vietnam & Cambodia trip this year. We loved the honest advice, great level of detail and exceptional knowledge which went into putting our trip together. We had always used a local travel agency before (now closed), but going through Red Dragonfly made things so easy and was on a different level from using our local agent. Top marks for the guides on the trip, everything worked like clockwork and it really was a holiday of a lifetime, including the choice of hotels.
