Fantastic experience: Thanks Carly for the wonderful holiday you planned for my sister and I. The apartments were beautiful, each bedroom had a beautiful ensuite and the beds were amazingly comfortable. We had fresh pawpaw for breakfast each morning and a G&T on the deck every evening. The view was just gorgeous. The travel arrangements were excellent and we had an awesome time relaxing in beautiful Rarotonga. We will be coming back again :-)

Fantastic experience: We booked with Charlotte, she was amazing to work with, she provided recommendations for accommodation, car hire and activities to undertake. Once we had made our selections she handled the rest and we had great holiday in Port Douglas and then onto Melbourne. All our bookings went without a hitch except for Virgin Australia, wouldn’t choose to fly with them in the future if Qantas was an option. Positive experience: All the flights were on time and Qantas were better than we expected. The food both ways could have been better. We would travel greater distances with them as the cabin crew were excellent. The Koala resort looks a bit tired and could do with some TLC, however the manager and his wife were very helpful. At the moment the Resort would only make 3 stars, but with some TLC would soon be back to 4 stars. There are lots of eating places within walking distance which was good. Green Island is the same and needs money spent on it to bring it up to a good standard, more food outlets with the food being a reasonable price would help to. We did a lot of walking around the city and really liked Cairns. There is something there for everyone. We would go again. Thank you, Charlotte, for all your help. You have been doing booking for us for over 15 years and have never been disappointed. Our agent Charlotte Campbell was really switched on, listened to what we wanted and emailed us quotes very quickly. The cost was comparable to other quotes we'd had, and what we could find online ourselves. The value of using a travel agent was shown when one of our connecting routes home was cancelled while we were travelling. Fantastic experience: I used the House Of Travel website to make an enquiry on a specific package. Obviously excited, and keen to expedite the transaction, as the sale period was ending, it had been 24hrs and I hadn't heard from a generic agent at House of Travel, so I decided to call the branch closest to my home and I was transferred by the receptionist to Nicky. Nicky couldn't have uncovered my needs any better, taking time to understand what was important to me. She looked at the package and considered dates and budget, after a few minutes she said, let me take a closer look at what remains within your budget during the travel periods. An hour or so later, I got a quote / booking itinerary email. It looked great initially and we took some time to sure up things on our end. Later in the day around 4pm, I rang Nicky as I was keen to lock the iten in. We were all set to go, I paid the initial flight money. That night, my wife got home and we were talking about how excited we were to be able to look forward to this, when my Wife queried the dates with me again, and then said, oh no! I've got a commitment on a day, during our trip. I couldn't believe it, despite checking all this earlier in the day. I emailed Nicky as soon as I knew, about 6pm suggesting slightly different dates. The next day, I decided to call Nicky around midday, to explain the situation and see if there was anything that could be done. Left a message and she called me back in about 1 hour. She explained she had been busy helping other customers with cancelled flights overseas, which was all good, totally understandable. Demonstrated her commitment to help in distressing situations customers face, which gave me comfort. Nicky was more than accommodating, and happy to help. She found flights on the suggested dates, and informed me the deal was only affected slight in cost to cover higher return flights. We were happy with that, got it paid. Thank you Nicky, especially from my Wife Lisa, who was really feeling not good about the original dates, and potentially letting down others. So thank you again. Bruce

Fantastic experience: I had a fabulous holiday visiting so many amazing places. My favourite places on this holiday were Edinburgh, Italy as usual, Prague and Singapore. The history and architecture in Edinburgh was fabulous, this place really gave me the feels. Definitely recommend it. Italy as always never fails to get me, the people, the places, the food I just love it. Prague was once again a favourite place. This is the first time I have stayed in Singapore and it definitely impressed me. The cleanliness, the greenery but most of all the people. They were so friendly, funny and very very helpful.

Fantastic experience: Tanya put together a great itinerary for us. Unfortunately we were foiled by a codeshare airline at one airport, not acknowledging our booking, even though we had written confirmation from the airline and ticket numbers. Tanya, in the early hours of the morning, negotiated with the airline and managed to get us on another flight with another airline without additional cost. This was incredible service; I would never book an overseas holiday without her help. The true test of a good agent is when things don't go to plan and their ability to remedy the airline's error. Positive experience: Our few days in Perth prior to departure on the Indian Pacific were great fun. 27 degrees, what's not to love. Our separate Gold Single cabins were okay, very compact but okay. Staff were wonderful and very helpful. The uneven track kept most of us awake the first night, I felt like I was on a very turbulent sea or being a kiwi, it could at times have been an earthquake whilst negotiating the trip from cabin to facilities along a fortunately narrow corridor. Our first off train excursion was in Kalgoorlie but it was so late starting I didn't do it. Those that did, did not express any great excitement. Next day we stopped at Cook Town and had a wander around this deserted place, obviously once a populated (I won't say thriving) place, now home to only 4 residents connected to the railway. It was good to stretch our legs and check out the amazing length of the train. Next stop was Adelaide. I chose a wander around the "famous" markets with breakfast. Our guide was very passionate about it all and told us at length about the stall holders and their history. Only food which I could not get too excited about as I was hardly going to buy a bag of carrots to take back with me to cook. Which brings me to the food. It was by and large excellent and we were very well taken care of. Best of all, they had excellent wines of which we enjoyed many. By day four I had a bad cold and felt rotten so I skipped the Blue Mountains and travelled straight to Sydney. My travel companions also caught colds and two of them subsequently tested positive for covid. It's not exactly like climbing Everest or sailing around the world, but I do feel a sense of accomplishment having survived. Would I recommend it to anyone, probably not unless I really hated them. To put it in context though, I am female in my late 70's, maybe if I was younger I would have enjoyed it more. Crossing the Nullarbor for a whole day and night was pretty amazing though!

The highlights would have been swimming with the stringway, sharks and seeing dolphins and the great snorkeling in what was the clearest warmest water ever.

Fantastic experience: Esther Ru Bay made the effort to seek out the best deal for me, obtaining no single supplement and an upgrade on the Vietnam, Cambodia and Mekong River tour that I have booked. This followed on from Esther's excellent service on my previous trip, where she obtained a rebooking at very favourable rates when my European river cruise was cancelled several months after booking.

Negative experience: No follow up regarding the booked flight. I sent an email to the travel consultant a few days ago and until this moment there has still been no reply. Disappointed!!!

Positive experience: We had a great time in Fiji. The Warwick is a lovely resort although it does need a bit of updating. Cherry was wonderful to deal with at House of Travel.
