Positive experience: Mixed feelings - rented a beta 2s for 47 days drove across north and South Island and the car did not break down, the bed is pretty comfy, the fridge kept things ice cold and lasted for 24hours without driving (less time if charging phones etc), the chairs and table add ons were good, the Bluetooth audio worked well, and the bed/bedding was pretty comfy we drove in March/April and it did get pretty cold some nights but with the limited space in the car I’m glad we did not get the winter warmer pack it’s better to just sleep in a thermal. Air conditioning worked well. There’s a big storage space under the bed which we could fit our suitcase in and lock. The negatives: The pick up process - we had scheduled a pick up and tour of the car at 10am, when we arrived there was only one staff member helping people and a queue of people waiting. We did not receive the contactless check in email so we could not pick up our keys despite checking in online, we waited 20mins for the staff to be free just to be told that are car was not ready yet so we had to wait a further 30mins when we finally got our keys by this time there was quite a few others still waiting to be shown the car so they ended up just handing us the keys after we had waited almost an hour and then giving us no tour of the vehicle as they carried on with the people waiting behind us. The car itself was not very clean, all the glove compartments were gross and full of dirt/dust etc One of the most annoying issues was the doors, obviously the car is very small and there’s no space to stand and sort things with you in the vehicle and the doors shut, so you have to do everything with the doors open and stood outside which would be fine except that 3 out of 4 of our doors did not ‘click into place’ to stay open, if we were on any slight incline or any wind 3 of the doors would just constantly slam or slide shut on us. It was so annoying and made everything more difficult, when you pay a couple thousand £ to rent a car you would hope that it wouldn’t have an issue like this. The curtains kept falling down from the roof. The front glove compartment box kept falling down. One of the backseat pockets had been ripped off so we only had the one, and when there basically no easily accessible storage space but these back pockets again it was very annoying. The car guzzled fuel, did not do 600km per tank as it says. We had a weird back mirror thing sticking out on the back windscreen, this meant the car awning did not fit over the back without leaving large holes. We had no idea what was normal as the 15second tutorial video on using the awning was so rubbish (completly skipped any instruction on how to put it up), but when our friends joined us in their spaceships we realised that it was because of this large weird mirror thing sticking out that the awning did not fit (none of the other ospaceships had this mirror thing - I feel like we just had an especially old model). They give a lot of kitchen equipment but this leaves you with little to no space to actually store food. We ended up not needed about half the stuff we had in there so it would be good to have an option to leave stuff behind. All 3 spaceships me and my friends rented none of the tin openers worked. One of the gas hobs did not work. Every morning even if we kept the windows a bit open all the car windows would be soaking wet in the morning, so much condensation. One of our pillows was so old it was completely yellow when we took off the pillowcase to wash it. Obviously we had a great time in our spaceship, but when you pay a lot to rent a very old high mileage car you would hope they would fix all these little issues, especially those annoying doors!!!

Positive experience: Hired the dreamsleeper mini for 5 days and it was great, well scuffed and scratched but I didn't mind that because less stress than a brand new car you're nervous about any possible scratch. We chose spaceships because they allow after hours drop off so can maximise our short holiday. Others require drop off by 4pm so last day of holiday is kind of wasted. The quilt is only summer weight we luckily took two down sleeping bags with us and were still cold in late April so make sure you bring or buy appropriate bedding. Also the headlights are like two pathetic candles and it made night driving close to impossible without high beams on. Also the two butane cookers are very handy for putting on picnic tables but they don't work in cold conditions so you might need an alternative stove like a jetboil in winter. In mornings late April we had to make sure canister was in sun and swap them regularly as they cooled down in use. The mini is naturally small and the front seats rotate around to become the end of the bed so a fair bit of luggage juggling required but we only had a short trip so worked well for us. Handy USB ports each side of bed for charging phones and it was very easy to drive and park compared to big campers. I'd definitely hire again.

Positive experience: The vehicle itself was perfect for 2. Had a couple of issues with the battery and the car not starting- we had done nothing to run the battery down, as fridge can be left on, when we called spaceships for help they were very useful but had said it would cost us for a call out despite paying for full coverage. 20 min later we tried turning it on again and it worked fine- this happened twice. Also had paid for chairs and table that were not given to us in pick up- luckily we were doing a loop in the first few days that allowed us to return to auckland to pick up but can imagine this would be annoying if not. Car began to beep for a few minutes every time it was locked, doors swapped from automatic to manual and fridge turned itself off a few times but all in all was good. We were a bit shocked to find out that the vehicle had to be returned having had a car wash and interior hoovered to avoid a $150 cleaning fee... called to ask how clean etc and was told rubbish free and hoovered and get a car wash.... i can understand rubbish free but we struggled to hoover as we were not equipped- not sure if this is unusual but seemed a bit unnecessary. Overall it was just fine for our 6 week road trip.

Fantastic experience: Well used cars but very well maintained. Haven’t had any issues on the road, able to fully enjoy our NZ trip. Contactless Pickup and drop off is was very easy and instruction mail was very clear. Friendly staff, easy reachable by phone and responded very quick to our emails. Also very satisfied with how they arranged the ferry tickets for the southern island and transfer to the airport. I would therefore definitely recommend spaceships.

Positive experience: Spaceship Beta - We paid extra for an extra set of sheets and towels but did not receive the extra towels and did not receive an extra set of pillow cases (just the fitted sheet and top sheet). I adjusted our pickup time via the online checkin service several days before pickup. Their confirmation email for completing the online checkin however does not give you the details of your confirmed pickup time and as there was a bit of confusion about the pick up time, and you c access the confi dthe online portal after confirm , it made picking up the vehicle a little bit more difficult. When dropping off the vehicle there is no clear signage for the key drop off box. It’s a black box without any signage or labels on it. We rented the Spaceship Beta and it is a very basic vehicle. Not great handling or pick up power, and not the best fuel economy. With that being said, the vehicle was reliable though and ran great without any problems, although the windshield wipers on the front and back of the vehicle could have used replacing as they more smeared rain or mud than wiped it away. The vehicles fridge worked exceptionally well and everything that the vehicle comes with (cooking stove, stove gas, flatware’s, etc.) was nicely organized and was easy to access. We got the additional insurance coverage incase anything happen and I want to note here that the disclaimer in the insurance coverage (and the road side assistance) specifies that the dead batteries are not covered and you will be charged if you require this assistance. I wanted to mention this as another review on here stated they had battery issues and the response to the review from Spaceship mentions their 24/7 road side assistance.

Positive experience: Dream Sleeper Mini - convenient for a short trip. The car ran without issue, was easy to drive and didn’t take much fuel. It was smartly organized with all the key features readily available as advertised. As one can expect from a budget rental, it was visibly dated, with countless bumps, scratches and stains, but it wasn’t a problem for us. However, the car was also somewhat tight and required reorganization every morning and evening, after the 2 weeks we spent in it, we were already quite worn out. Also, the pick-up and drop-off processes are self-service, with no staff interaction or guidance involved (beyond the content available on website). All that said, for the daily rate of 60 NZD (+ insurance), it was a good deal.

Fantastic experience: We rented a camper for almost three weeks. Drove all over the North & South Islands. Although the refrigerator started acting up but we thought a good deal. Their staff communicated well and our rental was about half what some of the other companies were charging. Highly recommend them.

Negative experience: I highly recommend going with a different company. The battery in our campervan died four times during our monthlong rental, which not only disrupted our schedule but also meant that we had to deal with rotting food and a lack of power for our devices. The battery often died when we were in remote areas where we were lucky to get a jump-start from other travelers. When we first encountered this issue and reported it to Spaceships, they simply asked us who had authorized us to get a jump-start (a ridiculous question given the circumstances). Spaceships refused to provide any compensation. To add insult to injury, upon returning the vehicle, Spaceships claimed that we had scratched the van and put an $1,800 charge on our credit card. They provided no photo evidence of the supposed damage. We have received some of this money back but we are still battling for a full refund. Long story short, absolutely do not book with Spaceships: poorly serviced vans, terrible customer service, and you may end up paying more than you would have if you had chosen a luxury van.

Fantastic experience: Maybe I should not speak up because we actually ended not using their camper but their dealings with us were exceptionally professional and customer-friendly. We booked their camper in May for our November trip. After reading a lot about their camper breakdowns, I contacted them and asked for their assessment of their vehicles' reliability. The answer was surprisingly honest, along the lines "we try to keep them well-services but sometimes they do break - your vehicle would be approx. 18 years old, and can have up to 350,000 km on the odometer." Victoria also suggested: "Please take some time to think about if hiring a commercial camper is for you." I decided that considering long drives, and not much extra time between precious reservations, we cannot afford to be stuck somewhere, waiting for the rescue. The freedom of roaming in our own home on wheels would be cancelled by constant stress of driving a vehicle that is years past its prime. It happened to quite a few of previous customers, and the wait for help varied based on location and time/day of the problem onset. Victoria gave us a full refund, without keeping our deposit, which was more than their policy promises - a good rebuttal to those claiming that "they are just crooks going after your money."

Fantastic experience: Amazing customer service, We booked our van for this month and due to covid it got cancelled, then we moved our date to October but due some issue we can't make it again. Then I contacted customer service today, the person on the other side called MAREE, She made our plan to work again by moving our trip dates again. She is just amazing, Great customer service. I strongly recommend to Spaceship to everyone and my 5 star review for MAREE...

Positive experience: Prices are really good at the moment, if you're considering a budget roadtrip

Negative experience: If I could give this a no star I would!! I had confirmed with the people before booking my rental van that my car would be safe at their facility in Auckland. I was insured that it was parked on their property upon leaving for my two week trip. At that time I was happy and I got into my camper drove up north and there was no gas cans for in the portable hob. I proceeded to go buy some costing me $35 for two and I got the receipt to show proof. 5 days into my trip I had a phone call saying my car had been broken into with a fully smashed window. I then decided to cut my trip short as I did not feel like I could carry on knowing my vehicle was damaged back on site. Noone is waited for me to come and collect my car and make the exchange of van even though it was only 6pm at night and pooring down with rain. I had to try pack all my things up and huddle for the video footage from the car dealer next door. Which they were not helpful at all. The next day I phoned trying to make an insurance claim for my window of which was $350 and as it was on someone’s property (what I was told was there property) it would be covered under contents insurance and not car insurance. I was then informed that my car was actually on the neighbours property and therefore could not claim for the damage. So I ended up having to put the matter to rest and paying for it. Thank goodness I was reimbursed for the rest of my trip but that was only $150. 5 months later... I received an email saying I got a speeding ticket of $80 when I was in the van and the payment was due that day.... you would think the morally correct thing would be for them to pay it after all the hassle and lies they put myself through! Do not go with this company. Pay abit more money and make sure you are looked after properly with a better company like Apollo.

Fantastic experience: We rented Beta Standard Camper-van (Mr. Krabs) for 26 days. It was a great experience. It was a great deal for us. Definitely cheaper than similar companies. We had no problem even if the car was not self contained. Easy contactless pick up and drop off. The car was so clean and tidy. We drove it for almost 7,000 kms across New Zealand. We spent 24 nights in the car. No complaints. The bed was comfortable. Did not get cold in it. Just the kitchen stuff was a bit old. Did not want to use the thermos.

Fantastic experience: Excellent rental - very straight forward booking, pick up and drop off. Excellent value for money. I had the Standard camper which was perfect for one person, would be great for 2 also. The fridge/freezer is very effective, two gas cookers and enough gas for my week’s rental. The duvet is warm, decent lighting, privacy curtains. The best bit is not needing to hook up to power, as the battery for the lights and fridge recharges as you drive. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: I had many good experience and memories in the trip with Spaceships car. The car is in good condition and driving smoothly. Bed setting is easy and is comfortable to sleep on. So much space to put our stuff of 2 people. Recommend if you want to experience something different.

We completed the preregistration beforehand and when we showed up we had a briefing about the van and off we went. The van was clean and the cooking gear provided was very nice. Drop off was equally quick and easy with no hidden loopholes, highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Had a really great experience with Spaceships from check-in to check out. We loved our dream sleeper mini, it rides smooth through all the windy roads and it got us through a 15 day trip with no issues. They’ve really thought of every detail down to the bug nets we used almost every night. Plus we slept like babies - thanks Spaceships!

Negative experience: We rented the dream sleeper mini for 3 weeks to pick up from Christchurch, hoping for a premium experience only to actually have a very mediocre one. The guy that showed us the car was very nice, however, from the get go the car looked extremely used, steering wheel cover was degraded and seat covers were torn and dirty. You are supposed to get automatic doors so we had... one door. The other door from the start (even when the spaceship guy showed didn't really work) and through out our journey kept getting stuck and didn't close - try closing the door 6 times in a row when you have mosquitos and sand flies flying in. Eventually we had to cut our trip short due to personal reasons, when coming to return our car they simply didn't care about this ordeal and didn't even think it was worth refunding some of our lost time or at least balance our bad experience. If you ask there are plenty of campervan rentals - best you choose another one for premium.

Negative experience: Our initial rental was a Christchurch to Auckland one way over 2.5 weeks. Unfortunately, after arriving in north island at Wellington, someone crashed into our camper while stopped at traffic lights. The Spaceships policy of only proving a replacement vehicle from either Auckland or Christchurch meant we had to be out of pocket for a hotel overnight and a Wellington to Auckland flight, despite being at no fault whatsoever for the incident. I find this policy pretty poor, very disruptive and punitive to the renter, considering we took out Spaceships 'Gold' level of insurance. Unless you are crashed into within walking distance of Auckland or Christchurch, you are going to be out of pocket. Jack at Auckland was proactive and sympathetic and tried to help as best he could despite the policy, so props to him. The replacement camper at Auckland had no cutlery provided, which was an additional annoyance. Finally, upon returning the camper, we were accused of having two toll tickets to pay, which I had to look up pick up date and time to prove that these were not in fact incurred during our rental, with no apology offered by the Spaceships agent who had a generally unfriendly tone. The use of the van itself was good and offered a lot of flexibility and freedom for our trip. It's a shame we had to miss portions of our planned trip due to events entirely out with our control.

Fantastic experience: Amazing rental company! We‘ve had lots and lots of different rental companies on our trip through Australia, Bali and New Zealand. This is by far the best one we‘ve ever had. Other than most competitors they just don‘t have any extra fees. No extra mile charges, no outback charges.. nothing. Of course you can rent extra equipment, which is a nice add-on if you need it. Their offices are amazing. Free arcade games, free coffee, stuff from other people that you can take and use for your trip and even a small bag of goodies with playing cards, maps and other stuff! Their staff is super friendly and you even get a free taxi ride home (or wherever you need to go) after dropping off your car. Their cars are nice as well. We only got to try the budget option but loved the setup. A lot of space, a small kitchen area and nice bed sheets. The interior was one of our favorites! In Christchurch we had to use the after hours pickup and dropoff, both times it worked absolutely great. In Auckland we finally got to experience the office, which was even better. I can only recommend spaceships. They‘re absolutely fantastic! I don‘t want to mention others but usually the more known companies were the ones we‘ve had the worst experiences with. I‘ve never written a review on Google but I really think these guys deserve it. If you‘re looking for a nice, honest and just easy going rental company, this is the one!

Fantastic experience: Simply: book a van through these guys. Professional, courteous, funny, provide vans that actually feel safe and are very competitive in pricing. I absolutely cannot fault them or the excellent customer service the lady on the front desk provided.

Fantastic experience: The best car rental company ever. I had only good experiences with Spaceships. Unlike other companies, they don't push you to buy any extra services or hustle you in anyway. A good honest company with amazing service and cars. Couldn't be happier and will always rent with Spaceships from now on.

Positive experience: We booked the dream sleeper mini for 16 days. We were very disappointed when we received it. The dream sleeper we received was very dirty. Dead insects between the plates in the kitchen. Work surface was so dirty that the cleaning wipe was completely black after we used it. But even worse were the bedding sheets. They had big yelllow smudges on it. Really sad, because in general the dream sleeper has definitely some advantages over other campervans (comfy matraze, fly screens,...). But for this price I expect a car to meet at least a basic level of cleanliness.

Negative experience: Stay away from the vehicle neeble KEZ814. moldy. Caused my wife and I to be very sick. Vehicles are poorly maintained from my experience. Doors that didn’t function well. Dirty interior. Broken key fob. But the mold was the worst. Be weary, if you make the poor choice to go with this company inspect the vehicle very well before driving away.

Positive experience: Staff and service was very good. The car itself (Beta2) quite old. Toyota vans from around 2005, ours with nearly 300k km. A lot of fuel consumption (unfortunately gas and not diesel). Anyhow cars are always serviced, so a safe driving. But I would recommend to choose a bigger one on basis of Toyota Hilace or Mercedes Sprinter (Juicy or Maui). They also have newer vehicles.

Fantastic experience: We were so glad we decided to rent from Spaceships. Our trusty Beta camper van (Apollo 11!) took us all around the North Island, and we never had a single problem. Plenty of space, and the company provided everything we might need. Very comfortable setup in the van. Only slight issue was that the separate battery for the lights, charging ports, etc. definitely did not last as long as we were told it would, but honestly it wasn’t a problem. Note that the vans aren’t very fuel efficient, but we expected that going in. Company also made the airport transfer very easy. Pick up/drop off process was smooth, though we were sad to leave our little home. Thanks Spaceships!

Fantastic experience: We rented the Beta for two weeks. Our minivan was in immaculate shape. I do not know the model year of this Toyota - maybe late 2000s. But it had only 80k kilometers and was mechanically in tip top shape. I drive a Honda minivan in the US - this was very comfortable, comparable driving. The bed, storage, and refrigerator in the back are very cleverly engineered. The two storage containers that support the bed have shock-supported lids - easy to open and close. The bed is super comfy for 2 and we loved having the awning over the rear hatch - sleeping "outside" and not be bothered by mosquitoes, rain, and wind. Our awning had screened windows on the side and back, so also a good view right from camp! :) The side door awning was an excellent addition for keeping us dry on a drizzly day or during the occasional rain. I was told that the interior design is Spaceships own - kudos for a clever, very sturdy, and functional design.

Fantastic experience: We chose to rent a Spaceship for our three week stay in NZ based on pricing and size (we wanted something small/easy to park in regular parking stalls around town), and it turned out to be a great choice! The double bed inside was comfortable enough (if a bit on the tight side!) for two, and with the awning setup with the boot open it was nice and breathable and didn't feel claustrophobic. (We only got caught out in the rain once, and water did leak inside the seams of the awning — the seams were stretched to be a bit open, I imagine due to age/use.) The fridge/freezer is small, but really useful to have as you travel. The side awning (which you can place over the open side door of the van) was nice to sit under for shade on those hot sunny days. Unfortunately, the awning didn't hold up so well on the windier days we had by the beach as it tended to buckle under the pressure, so we weren't able to use it as much as we would've liked. The design probably needs a bit of a revision to add some structural strength to make it more useful in the wind! When we picked up the Spaceship there was an issue with the table that held the camp stove (it wouldn't lock into place) so Spaceships kindly gave us a separate folding table and two camp chairs to make up for it, which we really appreciated! Added bonus: the fuel efficiency of the van was pretty decent, and we didn't have to fill up as much as I expected! If you're the sort of traveller who likes to spread out their clothing/gear and be able to find things easily, you'll probably want a larger vehicle to give you that extra space. But if you're a compact traveller looking for a simple, affordable, and comfortable way to easily travel around NZ, then a Spaceship is for you!

Negative experience: First we had dirty towels and bedding which was dealt with very well by the Christchurch office. Our electronic key gave us problems for a week until we called into the Christchurch office on the way back up the South Island and the battery was replaced. We are in the north lsland now . Our van/home wouldn't start yesterday morning and had to be towed away. We were put up in a villa on site but not before a lot of persuasion and hassle. It was not volunteered at all in the first instance.We are now into day two of waiting for a replacement vehicle which was promised for 11o clock. It is now12 45 and there is still no sign. I suggest you shop around before deciding on Spaceships.

Fantastic experience: Great no nonsense company. Used a spaceship in NZ north and south island for almost 4 weeks. You pick up the car, somebody helps you explain the ins and outs quickly and boom, you´re on your way. The car is no luxury, but has everything you need. Ours was bumped and scratched all over the place, but who cares, that means you dont have to worry about if you drive by some bushes. This is what you notice when you bring it back, they do a very quick check of the car and you´re out again within 5 minutes. Exactly what we wanted, top!

Fantastic experience: One of the best campervan hire I can think of. They are very friendly and do everything for you to have a great vacation. We had a Dream Sleeper, small but served all our needs. Me beeing 1,92 m tall could sleep well at night. I will definitely come back.

Positive experience: Just got back from a 10 day road trip around the South Island. We picked up our Beta 2S van from Christchurch. When we got there, we were provided a demonstration of the vans features with another couple picking up their van at the save time. Their van was used for the demonstration, since we had similar models. This turned out to work against us, as we found out on the first night of camping that our van was missing the gas burner. I notified the office and the remedy they offered was for us to go to a major retailer, buy one and they would reimburse us. I told them that we would be in pretty remote areas for much of our trip and that this would be an unlikely option. We ended up not purchasing a burner, as we only had 4 nights left in the van by the time we got into a large city. When we dropped off the van, we informed them that we did not have the burner and did not buy one to replace it. They said “sorry about that” and that was it. I’m giving this review 4 stars because we weren’t offered any sort of refund for their error. Also, the customer is responsible for returning the van washed, an added expense we were not made aware of when we picked up the van (and lucky to have read in the contract before returning it). All in all, I would recommend this company. Our van was clean and comfortable to drive. We had no mechanical issues with it and found it to be dependable. The bed sits up very high, so it is impossible to sit up straight on it, which was a bummer on the cold nights when we wanted to hang out inside the van. In hindsight, I wish we had rented the standard beta instead of the premium beta. The more “discrete” look and newer model was not worth the extra money paid. I’m sure we would have been just as happy with the more affordable option.

Negative experience: if i could click negative stars i would. we spent two weeks in one of the beta2s speaceships called star destroyer and it was the worst experience i have had with any rental company and holiday. all the reviews i read said good things about spaceships so 'm guessing there good until somethings goes wrong with the van. we were a few days into our trip and everything was going well so far no problems what so ever and we were having a great time. Then one day we had got back from a long day driving and hiking and had stopped for the evening in a camp site. we were going to go for a evening drive when i went to start the car and nothing happened . I couldn't believe it as it had been a busy day driving and thought that the battery being dead couldn't be an option. So i try phoning the spaceship company but it was 8 oclock at night on a sunday and understandably there reception was closed so i phoned the breakdown company that spaceship operate with and explain the problem. the man on the phone went on to say if its not important then can it wait till tomorrow morning as it will be cheaper for us. he then booked me for the next morning and asked for my credit card information which i was cautious about he explained that if the battery was dead then it was probably our fault and that spaceship or breakdown wouldn't cover it. we had also paid for the £0 excess insurance but after reading the terms and conditions it really does not cover much. Anyway i grudgingly gave him my credit card details and the next morning the man turned up and jump the van and looked ready to leave and say it was our fault. But i asked him to check what current was being drawn from the battery when the car was locked and dead. he did so and measured 7amps which is alot for a locked car to be drawing. so he then requested that we follow him back to his workshop, once there the mechanics look over the van and say that theres nothing wrong and we can go. leaving slightly unsure what was going on and confused about how they had not found anything we phoned the spaceships Rental company who had been told of the situation earlier. they seemed to think it was our fault as well and did not give us the benefit of the doubt even though we had insisted it was not our fault and we had done nothing wrong. Well The break down company then charged me 300 nz dollars for the call out even though they said it would only cost 180 max and then the van wouldn't start a further two times. Because of this and the amount we had been charged and the fact spaceship wouldn't believe us we were forced to stay near city's incase we broke down and could not enjoy our trip. once we got back to spaceships and handed the van back they emailed us and found out there was a problem with the van and refunded the money from the breakdown company. it was the worse experience and spaceship rentals treated us terribly the whole time. really cant tell you more how you should not use this company

Fantastic experience: we rented a dreamsleeper mini rom them and took it on the road for about 20 days. very happy. the car was well equiped, everything was in good order and we actually slept really well in there. They also have very friendly service and if you do have an issue on the road they are easy to contact and help out. would definitely recommend using them!

Fantastic experience: The after hour pick up service was very convenient for late arrival travelers. The car was well maintained, and the staff were nice and helpful.

Fantastic experience: Lovely people and well kept cars. I want site what vehicle to book so got the cheapest. As a warning, the cheapest vehicle (out at least three one I had) ate a lot of petrol. I spent far more money on petrol than anything else and I didn't travel far at all. Would definitely recommend thigh. Great little vans with plenty of room to sleep etc. Very well set up. I suspect sleeping in the warm hot months may be a little sticky thigh if there are a couple of you.

Fantastic experience: Best time with "crunchie". We booked spontaneously one night before and could pick up our car the next morning. Cooking equipment and linen provided. We will come back.

Fantastic experience: Our Aquiver Spaceship sent us to the moon and back with how easy it was to use. Great customer service and kind folks showed us how to operate the ship. We journeyed to the stars of Craggy Rridge Winery and the back to earth with the Creators of the Moon Geothermal Park with everything in between. Loved your nature New Zealand.

Fantastic experience: A very good campervan, comfortable and warm enough to brave the cold temperatures of Tongariro !! Easy to drive and no problems with this car. We appreciate the fridge and the big blanket.

Fantastic experience: I came to NZ for a few months for a surf trip odyssey. Had a blast exploring the entire country and living in my spaceships rocket. Perfect sized van equipped with great storage areas and cooking gear. I drove over 13000km, never had any major vehicle issues and spaceships treated me well. Legendary adventure!

Positive experience: The car we received (Beta category) was in good shape, though older than we expected. We were promised when booking a car aged between 2010-2015. This one was 2004. We sometimes had problems starting the car, due to the weak battery. The design of the car is ok, we saw other campers with better thought through design, than this one. We had two extra seats, which were unnecessary and only used up space. The curtains could have been closed better, if the sticky parts where positioned better. Other than that the experience was good, we were able to grab some groceries when checkin in and the staff explained the car quite well. The car did what it was supposed to do, so we enjoyed our stay in NZ.

Positive experience: Overall a very good experience. Vehicle ran well and the set up with the tent like extention is great in comparison to other campervans that are similar sized. Our van did have some "personality issues". The one door would only sometimes open from the outside and the rear passenger window didn't work. As mentioned overall a very good experience just a few minor fixes needed to be made to the vehicle. We would rent from spaceship again.

Fantastic experience: We spent almost 4 weeks touring NZ in the dream sleeper mini. We thought it was the perfect way to explore the country. We loved the freedom. And this is a well designed campervan, it's not like sleeping in your car! The bed was comfortable and easy to set up. The kitchen was very smartly designed. There was enough storage space for our things, as long as we kept organised. The people at Spaceships were friendly and helpful. We'd love to do it again sometime!

We had one problem during the trip, we just called the company, they sent us to the closest garage and 10 minutes later we were on the road again. Don't have to pay with our assurance. Fantastic experience: Great experience, we had a wonderful trip. Our car broke down and it took a couple of days to get it fixed, but Spaceships was very helpful and did everything they could do to make the missed days enjoyable for us, like arranging a temporary replacement car, paying for the accomodation and refunding lost days. We definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful experience with spaceships and loved New Zealand. We took the car with the extension tent in the back which gave us extra space and kept the car cool at night. No problems with the car and our parking ticket got taken care of when dropping off the vehicle without any extra infringements. We recommend this company to everyone travelling through NZ!

Fantastic experience: We rented a dream sleeper and loved it! It is a nifty van and the best part is the large fridge so it could keep our wine and food (in order of importance) cool. We had some mechanic issues in Wellington and got stranded there for 4 days. Spaceships were easy to contact and helpful as far they could sort things out for us. They refunded the days we couldn't use the car without any hassle. All people we have spoken to from spaceships (and we spoke to a lot of people...) have been very friendly and helpful. We would definitely book again with them!!

Unfortunately we received a very old model which felt worn out and did not meet our expectations we had regarding the high price paid for the long period. But the management was very open to our feedback and took appropriate measures.

Positive experience: Our Pandora Spaceship got us everywhere we wanted without any problems. Sleeping in there was ok, we had all the equipment we needed. Refrigerator worked perfectly. All in all we had a great travel with it!
