Fantastic experience: The original tour I attended was canceled, and I was transferred to the Chinese tour group at Sun Moon Light. The guide, Alan, was very dedicated and responsible, the explanations on the bus were very detailed and interesting, and the arrangements for food and accommodation were excellent!
Fantastic experience: My parents have traveled to countless countries around the world, and this trip to New Zealand's South Island opened their eyes. The natural scenery was somewhat different from their expectations, but the tour guide and meals were unparalleled. My parents said if there were ten stars, they would give it ten stars.

The tour bus in the South Island of NZ is very old and uncomfortable on uphill roads with old engine running, the small bus in the North Island is relatively new but very crowded. When I flew to the North Island from the South Island, I came out of Auckland airport ON TIME and followed the instructions to the designated shuttle bus stop. The shuttle bus booked by the ANZ Sky Tours took 2 hours to arrive. The instruction stated that "any" shuttle bus can be taken, but in fact only the shuttle named "Super shuttle" can be taken. At least 4 shuttle buses have already appeared from 2 other shuttle bus companies. Some of the bus drivers helped me call my shuttle bus company but no one answered, and they suggested I should go to exit 4 bus stop. Then I dialed the so-called emergency contact No. of ANZ Sky Tours, but I received a rude response: "You just wait there, we are only responsible for booking ticket". What's even more outrageous is that the exit location where I was instructed to wait for the bus was written wrong (exit 8). I previously confirmed with "WeChat" APP with ANZ Sky Tours after I waited for an hour, said I'm at the domestic airport (I joined their 11-day tour of North & South Islands, so they knew which airport I was at), are you sure this exit is correct? The response still said it's exit 8 which is correct. But the rude woman who answered the phone yelled: "It should have been Exit 4"! ----The company, 日月光旅游 cooperates with many travel platforms including Rainbow Holidays Limited (彩虹旅行社), Ctrip, etc. Friends who plan to travel to NZ should carefully choose a travel agency with quality service.
Fantastic experience: This is for mandarin speaking crowd only. The guides are good, hotel room and food are great.
Negative experience: Yikes! Sounds like an absolute nightmare with this travel agency. I'd definitely steer clear of them. First, I booked a tour, got the confirmation email, and then booked my flight tickets. Suddenly, they hit me with an email saying the tour is full, and to top it off, my flight tickets are nonrefundable. Total disaster!
Fantastic experience: Our trip was very pleasant, the guide Alan was witty and humorous, and very patient. Everything regarding food, accommodation, and transportation was arranged properly! Very patient and responsible, definitely the best among tour guides! Highly recommend guide Alan from Rìyuèguāng!
Negative experience: My parents participated in the 8-day tour of the South Island on December 7th. It was an extremely unpleasant experience. Before the trip, my parents isolated themselves at home for 3 days to prevent contracting the COVID-19 virus, which could affect their travel. However, on the first day of the trip, there was someone on the bus with suspected COVID-19 symptoms who was recklessly coughing, sneezing, not wearing a mask, and secretly taking cold medicine. They claimed to have a cold. The tour guide did not promptly conduct a COVID-19 test on them or take necessary protective measures. They were still allowed to share meals, rooms, and travel together. Halfway through the trip, a significant number of people in the group started showing COVID-19 symptoms such as headaches and coughs, including my parents. After we reported this to the company's customer service, we were informed late at night on the 6th day that a meal separation system would be implemented, and the tour guide urgently distributed RAT test kits, requiring everyone to test themselves and report their results. The two individuals who showed COVID-19 symptoms on the first day and several others who showed symptoms later were allowed to continue with the group, as their self-reported test results were negative. However, my parents and another group member truthfully reported their positive test results and were required by the company to immediately leave the tour, isolate at their own expense, or purchase return tickets. Two 80-year-olds in a foreign place with a language barrier and pre-existing conditions had no choice but to buy return tickets out of pocket. They also bore the suspicion of being the source of a COVID infection. The responsibility and negligence of the Sun Moon Light Company were conveniently overlooked and not mentioned at all. There is nothing fair about this. To be fair, in the end, the tour guide personally took my parents to the airport to check in for their return flight, which eased our worries. We want to express our gratitude for that. Additionally, the meal arrangements did not include the oysters and lobster flavors mentioned in the itinerary pricing sheet. I don't know about the salmon flavor on the last day since my parents had already been asked to leave the group.
Positive experience: Make sure you don’t sleep when driver is driving, or you can remind him to take a couple of stops for some coffees
